iPhone 12 to launch soon, Apple reported. During an earnings call with investors, Apple CFO Luca Maestri confirmed the delay which provided information about the June quarter results of the company. The latest news comes as a follow-up after Qualcomm indicated a minor pause in releasing the next-generation iPhone range that could include the new versions iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The 2020 iPhone family is expected to have 5 G support for the iPhone 11 series, and other new hardware-level updates.
He also stated he was referring to the new iPhone series when answering an analyst ‘s question during the call. In September, Apple has a record of launching its new iPhone models and making them available for purchase a few days later in the month. In the case of the iPhone 11 series, this usual schedule was also followed. There are some variations in the series. They we’ve seen some pause in the iPhone X and iPhone XR availability in the past.
Though Maestri ‘s comments definitely highlight the delay in launching the next-generation iPhone phones. Apple could host an event sometime in September to unveil its lineup and announce its availability for October. It will be similar to the case of the iPhone X and iPhone XR. Both released in September but later on going on sale due to reported manufacturing issues. In its earnings report earlier this week, Qualcomm indicated the delay in releasing the new iPhone models.
Tipster Jon Prosser reports the iPhone 12 series to unveil by Apple in October alongside its new iPad models. This seems to be something Maestri has now mentioned in the call to earnings.
