Buckingham Palace Staff Sacked by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry of the UK and his wife Meghan Markle officially fired all of their fifteen staff members in the country and also closed their office at Buckingham Palace as part of the couple’s shift away from royal life, it was announced Friday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex broke the news to the staff members in person last month, according to a Daily Mail article, prior to the announcement that they were resigning as senior working royals. While one or two may be integrated back into the royal family, the report added that most were now discussing redundancy packages.

Nevertheless, on Thursday night, the Buckingham Palace states that it did not comment on staffing issues but it confirmes by the report that senior royals, including the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William, inform of the closing of the office and the layoffs.

Further, a new private secretary of the pair, Fiona Mcilwham lost the job. Also, their highly qualified communications director Sara Latham. Also, the long-standing coordinator of Prince Harry, Clara Loughran. The other spokesman to lose her job is Julie Burley. He has served on their successful mental health initiative Heads. This is together for Harry, William and Kate, the Daily Mail article said.

David Watkins loses job as the social media expert for the couple from British fashion house Burberry last August. Metro newspaper reported that the Sussexes are now living in Canada with their baby son Archie. They plan to abandon their’ HRH’ styles and leave the monarchy in favour of financial freedom.

Originally, they had hoped for a dual role, helping the Queen and the Commonwealth. Also, look after the military activities. But the idea considers unworkable. Buckingham Palace has said the new life of the Sussexes will begin this spring, away from royal duties.
