Hardik Pandya, who had a lower back surgery in the UK, shared his journey to full recovery via a Twitter video. Hardik Pandya had departed for the United Kingdom to be treated by the same doctor who treated him in 2018 and the 2019 World Cup during India’s tour of England.
During the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against South Africa, the all-rounder’s back injury got aggravated.
“Baby steps ..but my road to full fitness begins here and now. Thank you to everyone for their support and wishes, it means a lot,” Hardik Pandya captioned his Twitter video.
HardikPandya was not picked against the visiting South Africans in the Indian squad for the ongoing three-Test series.
HardikPandya will miss the starting November 3 Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Bangladesh to be played in India.
The 25-year-old, who played 11 Tests, 54 ODIs and 40 T20Is, will be an essential part of the Indian team in Australia’s World T20 next year.
India began its home test campaign with a victory over South Africa. With the victory, India added 40 more points to take their tally to 160 in the World Championship and secure their top spot.
India will be hosting South Africa for Thursday’s second test in Pune. As of October 19, the third and final test will be played at Ranchi.
