Finally, Jackie Chan opens up about the rumours of getting infected with the deadly coronavirus. He revealed to his loyal fans that he is not in fact quarantined and that is he is A-okay. It was rumoured that the actor was diagnosed with COVID-19, or Coronavirus, and is under quarantine. Because of these reports, the star’s fans went into a tizzy, and many of them gave him face masks as a way of protecting himself.
Jackie Chan has written on his website a thank you note for his fans, thus explaining that he is healthy and fine.
As of Monday in Hong Kong, the South China Morning Post reports there have been 100 confirmed cases of coronavirus. In addition, more than 5,900 buildings were put under watch in the area.
CNN also confirmed that a pet dog was put under quarantine. This is after its owner was also diagnosed with “positive” testing. Nevertheless, the Hong Kong AFCD said the dog did not show any “specific signs.” Also, states that there is no proof that animals can bear the coronavirus or be the source thereof.
Chan’s recent movie ‘Vanguard’ has been pulled out of theatres to stop the virus from spreading among moviegoers. Hence, after the rumours spread, the actor also took to Weibo’s Chinese microblogging site. He extended to provide 1 million yuan (about $197,000) for an antidote study. He is presently shooting with Arnold Schwarzenegger on The Iron Mask, a 2014 sequel to Viy.
