Over the weekend of Memorial Day, vacationers packed Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks ignoring guidance to maintain 6 feet of social distance during the coronavirus pandemic. Scott Pasmore, an anchor at the KTVK-TV affiliate of CBS Arizona, posted footage of festivities showing people flooding a maskless pool.
New images from Snapchat Map display similar scenes played around Lake of the Ozarks in bars and recreation areas. Most areas were crowded and without masks or at least 6 feet apart, patrons said. Missouri ‘s home order stay expired earlier this month, but state health director Dr Randall Williams directed statewide social isolation at least until the end of May. CBS News has asked the Department of Health and Human Services in Missouri for comment. Missouri reported confirmations of at least 11,752 COVID-19 cases and 676 deaths.
