New York Police Officer Shot by Unidentified Gunman

In a shocking incident, a gunman wounds a New York police officer on Sunday in a police station. The incident took place 12 hours after an officer sitting in his patrol van was wounded. According to the authorities, the attack on New York Police Officer is a part of an assassination attempt.

A police spokesman stated, a gunman entered the Bronx 41st Precinct headquarters about 8 a.m. (1300 GMT). He then wounds one of the officers before he is in custody.

The officer is in hospital. The New York media reports the officer is a lieutenant. Previously on Saturday, there is also attack a cop sitting inside in his police van.

The gunman smartly began a conversation with the cop and suddenly opened fire. One policeman is injury at chin and neck.

Police add that another cop takes injured cop to hospital. Police authorities have begun investigating the incident and verifying if the same shooter shot both the cops. Further, authorities have not released any further details or the attacker’s name or the injured cops names.

Andrew Cuomo, Governor on Twitter writes that the police are searching the culprit and to bring justice to the injured cops.
