Nigerian Kids Popular for Remaking Hollywood Movie Trailers Get a Golden Ticket

The Nigerian kids who are renowned for remaking multimillion-dollar music videos and Hollywood movie trailers with household objects may head to Hollywood. Members of Ikorodu Bois nabbed the chance Wednesday after the group posted their remake of the Netflix trailer, “Extraction,” on social media.

Undaunted by high-end productions, the Sanni brothers, Muiz, 15, and Malik,10 (with video-editing assistance from the older brother, Babatunde), and their cousin, Fawas Aina, 13, filmed the trailer in their neighbourhood in Ikorodu, a suburb in Lagos, using their ingenuity, the ever-present wheelbarrow, and some upcycled items.

When posted, they told their followers to share and tag their focus on lead star Chris Hemsworth and Netflix. “Extraction,” produced by the American team, the Russo Brothers, features Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a soldier whose mission is to save the teenage son of an imprisoned drug lord who is kidnapped by a rival boss. A few hours later, Netflix retweeted his message and said, “LOVE THIS.”

Celebrities React to the Video

The video also attracts Hemsworth ‘s attention, who retweet the video. He writes, “EPIC.”

But what really attracts their attention the sudden recognition from filmmakers. The Russo Brothers, who posted the video and welcomed them to the “Extraction 2” premiere. In May, Joe Russo told Deadline they had signed the contract to write a sequel.

The boys respond with elation, saying the producers and Hemsworth ‘s comments dream come true.

Babatunde Sanni, the 23-year-old is the brain and behind the group. But is showing up in the video, state the trailer took them a month to make.

The invitation represents a significant development for the sensations of the boy. It is not the first time that their creative videos go popular. They have amassed more than 600,000 followers since creating their Instagram page in 2017. Some of their content has gone viral, including actor Will Smith, Netflix “Money Heist” actor Alvaro Monte. Also, rapper Roddy Rich, they have collected kudos from big stars. Babatunde Sanni told CNN that it would be gratifying to see all their hard work pay off.
