US President Calls Qasem Soleimani ‘Terrorist’

On Monday, US President Donald Trump again defended the killing of Iranian top leader Qasem Soleimani in a drone strike by calling him it ”no. 1 terrorist … in the world”. When the Democrats try and defend him, it”s a disgrace to our country,” the President said at a short press briefing.

Protestors in Iran took to the streets for the third day after officials confirmed last week’s “accidental” shooting down a Ukrainian passenger aircraft that led to severe tension between the U.S. and Iran.

Videos from demonstration sites showed students chanting slogans like “Clerics get lost!” outside universities in Isfahan City and Tehran, where riot police were deployed on the streets, said Al Jazeera. Even as police denied opening fire, bullets rented the air.

Trump, who raised the stakes last week by ordering the assassination of the most powerful military chief of Iran in a drone strike, tweeted to the leaders of Iran: “Don’t harm your demonstrators.”
